Singaporean instrumental post-rock newcomers Nagetto have made their debut with “Rimshot”, a searing single that takes its cues from the likes of local contemporaries in the genre such as Amateur Takes Control and Paint The Sky Red. Consisting of members primarily working in the art and design industry, the freshly minted four-piece consists of drummer Jeffery, bassist Alif, and guitarists Syukri and Khalif.

On "Rimshot", the quartet builds a track over a spoken word sample of Charlie Chaplin’s iconic speech from The Great Dictator, bringing overdriven riffs and vigorous drums that are infused with an undeniable groove. The track eventually culminates in a cathartic crescendo with soaring guitar lines driving the track forward as it races to the finish line. Although nothing too special right out of the gate, “Rimshot” more than proves Nagetto’s solid foundations in the genre – excellent first steps in forging their own sonic identity.
