Heaven Affair: There Is Heaven

Credit: Press

Indonesian indie rock quintet Heaven Affair has dropped “There Is Heaven”, their follow-up to singles “When Even Try” (which featured Tatiana Zalfa on guest vocals) and “Something the Lord Made”, which we enjoyed massively upon release at Big Duck. It’s their third single off Blessed Shock – their debut EP slated for release sometime in early 2022, and it’s yet another slice of delightful indie rock for the group: “But if it's me the one who always falls / Does it really need to be forever?” vocalist Michael Dylino questions on the track’s driving refrain. A satisfying mix of hefty downstrokes, angular riffing, and understated lo-fi production, the track is a sincere ode to vulnerability that recalls the likes of Turnover and The Strokes
