Queer-focused cassette label Genjitsu Stargazing Society has dropped For You I’ll Stay: A 2021 GSS Sampler, a curated taster of sorts previewing works released on their label last year from a myriad of Filipino artists across the genre spectrum. Highlights from its tracklist include searing riot grrrl from catpuke, groovy synth pop from Valiant Vermin, and driving shoegaze from Polar Lows. The compilation also includes music from savedhistory, killuv, agsit, .wendil, Pamcy, O.U.T, and Grrl Cloud. Genjitsu Stargazing Society’s charming snapshot of the Philippines’ increasingly diverse indie music scene last year has us excited for what’s to come in 2022.
